The FlyingLess greenhouse gas monitoring tool of business air travel in the scientific sector intents to contribute to a standardization in data collection and evaluation. The tool was developed in exchange with the project partners and offers various options for data input, taking into account the availability of information. It automatically accesses averaged flight information and enables a variety of interfaces and output formats.

The FlyingLess greenhouse gas monitoring tool is now available to all interested academic institutions. The calculation is conducted via an online tool after registration. A completed Excel template with the flight data is loaded into the tool. This template and a video tutorial are available on this page.

Please register on the following page to be able to use the tool. If you already have an account, you can log in directly. Registration is required to prevent unauthorized access and misuse. The tool is currently in beta testing, we would be pleased to receive feedback on errors.

In the context of the use of the greenhouse gas monitoring tool, data are processed that are required for the use of the tool in general or optionally for in-depth analyses. This document summarizes the instructions for data use within the framework of the FlyingLess monitoring tool.

Participating institutions can use this contract template for the commissioned processing of personal data in accordance with Art. 28 (3) DSGVO.
